I laughed.<\/p>\n

At the airport, Emily hugged me longer than usual.<\/p>\n

\u201cMom?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYeah?\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know you weren\u2019t intentionally trying to pull me away from my life.\u201d<\/p>\n

My throat tightened.<\/p>\n
